I’ve always wanted to build a game of some sort. For over a decade I’ve been playing various TCGs (trading card games) including Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and more recently, Magic: The Gathering, and in the past year, been getting into board games and TTRPGs (tabletop role playing games) such as Dungeons and Dragons, Secret Hitler and Catan. As a child, I would make primitive card games based on the games I was playing at the time and play them against friends.
I believe there is a powerful ability for games, specifically played in person, to bring people together and I value the third space that LGS (local game stores) have provided to me and my friends over the years. Some of my fondest memories include spending a whole day playing MTG (Magic: The Gathering) with high school friends, or hurling accusations in Secret Hitler during late nights at Enactus retreats.
So, why not try and make a game of my own?
Come along my journey of designing a board game from scratch, drawing on the games I love, and hopefully making something that everyone will enjoy playing.
